Plastite®

We manufacture the Plastite® family of Trilobular™ thread-forming screws, from a range of materials, including stainless steel, carbon steel, and alloy steel specially for plastic fastening applications. Deep and coarsely spaced threads in our Plastite® screws help in forming deep thread engagements in plastic components. Our extensive testing capabilities allow us to test proposed fasteners on all grades of plastic.

The three-lobed design configuration of our Plastite® screws enables our fasteners to withstand vibrational loosening. The Plastite® thread-forming screw’s Trilobular™ design also helps in reducing critical hoop stress that causes the explosion of thin-walled bosses. Our ...

Plastite® 45

Our Plastite® 45 range of fasteners is specially designed for less compressible plastics such as cellulosic thermoplastics, engineering resins and certain thermosets. The screws have a Trilobular™ design with a narrow thread angle plus wide thread spacing, which lock them in place and provide high resistance to pull out or strip out. They are manufactured in nominal sizes and metric diameters, or other custom sizes upon request.

The Plastite® 45 series of fasteners are ideal for your multiple diameter applications. The Trilobular™ configuration in Plastite® 45 makes use of the natural resiliency and creep characteristics of plastics, allowing them to flow and fill in the areas between the lobes, ...

Plastite® 48-2

The Plastite 48-2 range of trilobular screws is best suited for high-torque applications. They can be used on resilient thermoplastic substrates, including styrenics and fluoropolymers, many engineering grades, as well as structural foams. The pitches in our Plastite fasteners are twice that of normal machine screws. They have a steep 48° thread profile with twin leads, which provides greater shear and drives them faster into plastic material compared to the other fasteners. Their tri-lobular body further reduces the possibility of any pullouts due to vibrational loosening. Higher holding torque and faster seating of the screw reduces the need for any lock washers or inserts in these fasteners. Additionally, we also provide ...
